Ash: Hi Noah, it’s me Ash. My favorite song is [sings Comfy Cozy]
Noah: Hello! I’m Noah and this is Like You, a mindfulness podcast for kids. I’m glad you’re here! A big thank you to Ash for singing your favorite Like You song for me! If any other kids want to send a message telling me your favorite song, or reciting your favorite affirmation, you can have a grownup send me an email at hello@likeyoupodcast.com. It was great to start this episode with singing, because today we’re doing round two of a special Music and Affirmations podcast. That means today’s episode is all music and affirmations. We did an episode like this a few months ago, and I heard from many of you who enjoyed it, so I decided to make another one! We’ll listen to a few songs and say affirmations in between each one. But first, I want to remind the grownups that this podcast is listener supported, and I’d love to have you join us at patreon.com/likeyoupodcast where you can get early access to each episode and other special patron perks.
Right now we’re ready to start the show, so find a place to listen where you feel comfortable and safe. Feel free to sing along to songs and say affirmations out loud, but if you’d rather keep those things quiet in your head, that’s ok too.
I’ll start with a short song about breathing I’ve shared a few times, called Smell the Flowers. You can take a long slow breath in when you hear me sing smell the flowers breathing in, and then a long breath out when I sing blow your breath like you’re the wind. Here we go.
Smell the flowers breathing in
Blow your breath like you’re the wind
Smell the flowers breathing in
Blow your breath like you’re the wind
Smell the flowers breathing in
Blow your breath like you’re the wind
Now on the count of three say I like me. 1-2-3 I like me.
I like you too. I’m so glad to have you here, and I love the energy you bring to the podcast. I am thankful that you are my podcast friend.
Let’s all take a moment to think about something we are thankful for as we listen to this song.

Now let’s say some affirmations. Affirmations are words you can say to yourself to help you feel good about yourself. For these first affirmations, we’ll be joined by our friend Eso.
Eso: Hey! It’s Eso. Are you ready to say some affirmations? Listen the first time, then say it with me the second time.
I am open and ready to learn
I can do big things
I have courage and confidence
I am beautiful inside and out
I deserve to be loved
I am strong on the inside
Noah: Thank you Eso. Now we’ll listen to a song called Head to Toe. This is a very relaxing song. As you listen check in with your body from head to toe, and practice letting each part of yourself relax.
I breathe in
I breathe out
I wander head to toe
And I check things out
My head is loose My shoulders too
My neck and my tummy know just what to do
My arms and legs are letting go
Relaxing from my head down to my toe
I breathe in
I breathe out
I wander head to toe
And I check things out
It’s time for more affirmations. To lead us, please welcome our friend Mia.
Mia: It’s me, Mia! Will you repeat these affirmations with me?
I am proud of me
If I fall I will get up again
I speak up for what is right
When something is wrong, I can change it
There is beauty in our differences
The world needs someone like me
Noah: Thanks, Mia. This last song is a song to remind you that even when you’re feeling sad or lonely, there’s a bright light shining inside you, and you bring a special light to the world. So remember to let you light shine, and always look for the light in others.
Dark night
I cannot see the light
But I know there’s a glow
Inside me
Starshine
This little light of mine
It is always there, and I can always share
My light with you
Wherever you are
You’ll shine like a star
You won’t e-ver- be a-lone
In a sky filled with stars
You shine as you are
And you’re bright on your own, but we shine
Brighter together
Starlight
I wish upon a star tonight
And when my wish comes true you will know that you
Are loved the way you are
When you
Think one understands you
Look up at the stars and you’ll know you are
Never alone
Let your light shine bright
Through the night let your light shine
Thank you for listening, and singing, saying affirmations today. And don’t forget to share your light with the world around you. I’ve enjoyed making these music and affirmation episodes. Be sure to let me know what some of your favorite Like You songs are so I can try to include them next time. I can’t wait to spend some time together again soon. Until then, I like you, I’m proud of you, and I’m glad we are friends. Have a happy and peaceful day.
